Project Srijan –
Skill Development for Women
Empowering Women Through Skills, Confidence, and Independence
What does true empowerment look like?
At the heart of our mission lies skill development for women, where empowerment begins with access to opportunity and the confidence to shape one’s own future.
Project Srijan — meaning creation — is our flagship initiative dedicated to transforming lives through practical, hands-on training and employment generation. It bridges the gap between potential and opportunity, helping women and adolescent girls build the skills and self-assurance they need to become independent and self-reliant.
Located at Plot No. 14/15, Vivanta Residency, Matiyala, Sector-3, Dwarka, New Delhi – 110059, our Skill Development Training Center operates daily, welcoming 60–70 women and girls from nearby underprivileged communities. The programs are designed for girls aged 14 and above, and women up to 40 years old, focusing equally on professional growth and personal confidence.
about
Project Srijan
Launched with the vision of empowering women through education and employability, Project Srijan stands as a symbol of creation, innovation, and independence. The initiative not only imparts technical skills but also instills the confidence to start a career or even a small business.
Many of the women who join Project Srijan come from marginalized or low-income families, often facing social and financial barriers. Through structured learning programs, mentorship, and certification, Rakshaks Foundation ensures that each participant leaves with employable skills and the confidence to shape her future.
Our goal is simple yet powerful — to turn skills into sustainable livelihoods, and livelihoods into lasting empowerment.
Empowering Change Through Vocational Training and Skill Development for Women
Tailoring Course NGO Initiative
Under Project Srijan, the Tailoring Course NGO initiative stands out as one of our most impactful programs. It empowers women with practical skills in cutting, stitching, designing, and measuring garments — enabling them to create clothing for both personal and commercial purposes.
Participants learn the basics of sewing and progress to advanced design techniques, creating apparel suitable for retail or boutique businesses. This training requires minimal investment, allowing women to begin earning right after course completion — from home-based stitching work or small tailoring shops.
Graduates receive a certification from Rakshaks Foundation, which enhances their employment prospects and boosts confidence in pursuing independent ventures.
Basic Computer Application Course
In today’s digital age, computer literacy is essential. Project Srijan offers a Basic Computer Application Course in Delhi, providing essential basic computer skills to women and youth.
This basic computer course covers:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Internet & Email usage
Digital literacy and online safety
Resume writing and job application skills
These foundation learning programs empower participants to pursue administrative, data-entry, and freelancing opportunities, making technology an enabler for empowerment.
Hair Styling Course
Complementing the beauty program, the hair styling course at Project Srijan trains participants in modern and traditional hairstyling techniques. From basic cuts to bridal styling and hair care routines, the course equips women with salon-level expertise.
By completing the hair styling course, many trainees have successfully started freelance hairstyling services or joined established salons in Delhi. This course is ideal for those who want flexible, creative, and high-demand skills to build a sustainable career.
Fashion Designing Course
For women seeking creativity and career growth, our fashion designing course provides an ideal platform. Recognized as one of the best fashion designing courses offered by an NGO in Delhi, this program combines design fundamentals with practical garment-making skills.
Students learn about color theory, fabric selection, pattern cutting, and contemporary fashion trends. The course encourages innovation, helping participants explore their creativity and adapt to changing fashion markets.
As part of the fashion designing program, Rakshaks Foundation ensures that students gain not only technical training but also valuable exposure to entrepreneurship and product marketing. Many women trained under this initiative have successfully launched their own clothing lines or small design studios, contributing to both household income and community development.
Beauty Culture Course
Our beauty culture course focuses on personal grooming, skincare, and basic salon management. Participants gain hands-on experience in facial treatments, hair care, manicure-pedicure, and makeup techniques.
This program opens doors for women to establish careers as beauty professionals or start small-scale salons from home. It’s an excellent income-generating skill, especially for women balancing family and work responsibilities.
The training also includes sessions on customer handling, hygiene standards, and professionalism, ensuring participants are industry-ready upon certification.
Rakshaks Foundation also provides Non-Formal Education (NFE) classes for children who have dropped out of school or never had access to formal education. These sessions focus on literacy, numeracy, and personal development, preparing children for mainstream education and future opportunities.
By nurturing young minds early, we ensure that the next generation grows with knowledge, confidence, and purpose.
Apart from skill-based training, Project Srijan integrates health awareness and community welfare into its programs. We conduct regular sessions on:
Nutrition and hygiene
Menstrual health and wellness
Mental health and stress management
Preventive healthcare and first aid
These initiatives help participants maintain physical and emotional well-being, ensuring that empowerment is holistic — not just financial but also personal and social.
